Description
In Shona culture, the human soul must be carefully nurtured. In fact, each person is believed to have two souls, the soul of the body and the soul of the mind or spirit. The spirit soul can transform into any shape, at any time, and travel into other forms, but if it does not return, then the body shrinks and weakens. The shaman will be called to restore the original soul and recreate the person once again. Both souls must be carefully nurtured and protected during its journey from the corporeal into the ancestral world.
